Veta, Oghenechoja Dennis (PhD), a professional social worker, worked with the Delta State Civil Service Commission, Department of Community Development, Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, and Social Development. He grew to the level of an Assistant Chief Community Development Officer (ACCDO) and later left for academia. Presently, he lectures at the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ilorin, Ilorin Nigeria. He has served in different capacities including as a Departmental Representative at the Faculty Curriculum Review Committee, Academic adviser at various levels, and Faculty Representative at the Sugar Research Institute, University of Ilorin. His research interest is basically in social work, particularly community development, substance use, medical social work, social policy, vulnerable, mental health, and indigenising social work. He has published in renowned journal outlets, and book chapters, and has made presentations at both national and international conferences. He belongs to social work professional bodies.
